There are two things you will need to do in order to get a flat tummy fast, the first is to take a good, hard look at your diet and reduce the amount of high fat foods you eat and then work to replace them with foods that are better for you and which are commonly referred to as ‘negative calorie foods’ (more about this shortly).

The second thing you will need to do is to do plenty of exercise, unfortunately, there is no escaping this, so if you think you can get a flat stomach by simply dieting alone then, I’m sorry to tell you this but, you need to think again.

Exercise is necessary to tone your tummy but the type of exercise that you will need to focus on is anaerobic exercise.

Anaerobic exercises build muscle, unlike aerobic exercises which work on improving your circulation, lung capacity, heart and stamina, all of which are also very important to losing weight.

Anaerobic exercises such as crunches (sit-ups) work the upper stomach muscles whilst leg lifts will work the lower abdomen muscles. Side bends will work the obliques, more commonly referred to as the ‘love handles’.

Exercises such as these will increase the size and density of your abdominal muscles and in doing so they will also increase the amount of calories burnt every time that you work them.

Exercise will certainly tone your muscles and help you feel a lot healthier not to mention helping you to burn off a good deal of fat, but even with a good exercise regime you will always retain a degree of fat no matter the amount of exercise you do…there is no point having all of your hard work go unnoticed because your toned muscles are hidden underneath a layer of stubborn stomach fat and this is the reason why a good diet plan is also needed.

‘Negative Calorie’ Diet Plan:

The word ‘diet’ used to fill most people with dread or feeling miserable, it would either mean eating minuscule portions of food which then left you feeling permanently hungry or, eating branded diet food that lacked as much in flavour as it did in calories and which left a substantial dent in your monthly shopping allowance!

This situation has changed drastically since the emergence of negative calorie diet plans. Before explaining how these plans work I need to explain what a negative calorie food is exactly.

A negative calorie food is a food that requires more energy to eat and digest than it actually provides the body once digested, hence the term, negative calorie!
